This farm implement is used for crushing and shredding material. This is done by repeatedly hitting the material with little hammers to break it into smaller pieces. This mill is used for a variety of purposes including milling grain into coarse flour for animals, fluff pulp defiberizing, fruit juice production, milling grain, grinding shipping pallets for mulch, reducing size of trim scrap, shredding paper and scrap automobiles, shredding garden waste, crushing large rocks, waste management, etc. It is basically a steel drum consisting of horizontal or vertical rotating shaft on which hammers are placed. A hammer mill is used as a primary and tertiary crusher.
