A disc plough allows for deep ploughing in hard and infested soils. It checks soil erosion especially in rain-fed areas. Initial soil preparation is facilitated with the use of disc ploughs. It allows for deep tillage. A disc plough helps turn the upper layer of soil which helps bring fresh nutrients to a soil’s surface. It aerates soil and facilitates it to better hold moisture. This way the soil can withstand heavy loads. Disc ploughs are adapted for use in rocky, hard and shrubby land. It consists of round concave disks. Modern farms connect disc ploughs to tractors to use as trailing implements.
